Bachelor of Arts

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Theatre Arts) program must complete a total of 132 units. 

The program has five areas of concentration: (1) theatre and performance studies; (2) performance (acting); (3) dramaturgy and directing; (4) theatre management; and (5) technical theatre and design.

Regardless of areas of concentration, all students must take 33 units of GE courses, 54 units of Core/Foundational Courses, 6 units of Foreign Language electives, 6 units of Theatre Electives, 12 units of Non-Theatre Electives, 3 units of Legislated Course. All students must also take NSTP (6 u), and PE (8 u).  

For students in the theatre and performance studies concentration, they must take 15 units of required courses in the area of concentration and additional 3 units of a required course from the Department of Anthropology. 

For students in performance (acting) concentration, they must take 18 units of required courses in the area of concentration.

For students in dramaturgy and directing concentration, they must take 18 units of required courses in the area of concentration.

For students in theatre management concentration, they must take 9 units of required courses in the area of concentration and 9 units of qualified electives from the Virata School of Business.

For students in technical theatre and design, they must take 15 units of required courses in the area of concentration and 3 units of a required course from the College of Fine Arts.
